Apple’s OS 10.8: Mountain Lion Moves Users Closer to iOS

In the growing group of giant cats, Mountain Lion is Apple’s newest addition to the pride. The tech company has announced that Mac users will likely have a new operating system to play with as soon as this summer: OS 10.8. So far, the new system promises a more seamless integration for oversharing; Twitter can now be accessed from more programs. It also dumps the 2002 “vintage” iChat for iMessage, which allows you to text people’s iPhones from your computer, and is designed to put your desktop on your HDTV with the click of a mouse—as long as you have Apple TV, of course. There’s new integration for the Chinese language as well—proving Apple knows it’s largest potential growth market. But the biggest news of Mountain Lion is that it’s a step ever closer to becoming indistinguishable from iOS, the operating system for Apple’s mobile devices. The assembly of the company’s product and OS Voltron continues!
